Trouble Logging In? ReloSpec is now on a Secure Server

Earlier today the Relocation Specialist software was moved to a secure server.  This means that communications between your PC or device and the ReloSpec server are now encrypted and therefore more secure.

Though this was supposed to be a simple change, we have found some unintended consequences.  For those people who access their ReloSpec database using a Shortcut,  you may have had trouble logging in.  That is because the shortcut includes the letters “http://…” for the URL (Internet address) and the address now begins with “https://…” (note the “s”).

If your shortcut only took you to the Main Menu page and you logged in yourself you wouldn’t have noticed any difference.  That is by design.  It’s just that for those people whose shortcut included their ID/Password they would have an issue with logging in.

If your shortcut includes your ID/Password, the edit the shortcut to include the “s” and all will work again.  If you have any questions or problems, please contact a member of the ReloSpec team.

Web Seminar Schedule Has Been Updated

It’s time to review the schedule to see if there is a seminar that you can use.  Do you want to save time while using ReloSpec?  Do you want to learn about the latest (free!) features that have been added?  Or, do you want to brush up on something you should have learned a long time ago?

Have you been thinking, “I know there are things that would save me time, but I haven’t learned them yet”?  Now is the time!  You can learn about all the new features, or improve on the ones you already know.  A 30-minute investment of your time now will save you hours of time later!  Plus, they’re free!

The new Web Seminars list is available now.  Click here to view the list.

Wondering where those Responses went? (Send to Notes feature)

Are your agents telling you they’re submitting their responses to your update requests but they’re not in the Responses table? It is likely they’re already in the Notes!

A new feature allows you to send most responses that are submitted from the AutoUpdate form,  and other similar forms directly to the Notes table.  In the Users table there is a field labeled ”Send Updates directly to Notes?  (by-pass the Responses page)”.  By setting this field to YES, then all responses from the AutoUpdate forms will be inserted into the Notes table.

This feature is most often used by people who want to look in one place for all the latest notes on a particular record.  With this feature set to YES then you’ll be able to just open the Notes page to view activity and not need to also open the Responses page to see if there is anything waiting there for that client.

Web Seminars Available for May, June

Cartus 1st Two Weeks Forms Now Available

For those ReloSpec customers who are members of the Cartus Network, you’ll want to know that the two new forms ‘1st Two Weeks LST’ and ‘1st Two Weeks HF’ are now in the ReloSpec FORMS page.  These two forms are variations of the ‘Monthly’ forms and have new form names assigned to them.  This means that if you use the Action Plans feature to send forms to your agents you’ll want to update the Action Plan Items to include the new ‘Two Weeks’ forms rather than the ‘Monthly’ ones.

The ‘Monthly’ forms will remain in ReloSpec for the foreseeable future, though Cartus wants you to begin using the new ones beginning February 3rd.

Free Web Seminars Available for January, February

New Web Seminars are now available for the rest of January and the first half of February.  Are you willing to invest 30 minutes to save hours of time each week?  The Web Seminars are a great way to learn those time-saving features you’ve been wanting!

NOTE:  Most of the time in the past the web seminars have been on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Beginning this month most seminars are on Tuesdays at 11:00AM Central time and Wednesdays at 1:00PM Central time.  There is one exception to this so be sure to check the dates and times for the seminars you want to attend.

They’re free and 30 minutes invested now will save you hours later!  Click here to review the schedule.

Compatibility Mode for ReloSpec and Broker Center import

Many of you have had your PCs upgraded to the latest Internet Explorer version 11 (IE 11).  This may have happened automatically without you knowing about it or your IT person may have done it.  The addition of IE 11 may have caused your PC to display the ReloSpec pages in a way that isn’t pleasing.  Bold thick lines may appear where pleasing thin lines were there before.  And, if you are using the Broker Center copy/paste feature it may have stopped working intermittently or altogether if you’re using IE 11.

To learn which version of IE you are using, tap the ALT key on your keyboard to display the menu bar (if it isn’t already visible).  Click ‘Help’ and ‘About Internet Explorer’.  A page will open to display the version.

To put a web page; in this case ReloSpec, into ‘Compatibility View’, open ReloSpec , tap the ALT key to display the menu bar, click Tools and View Compatibility Settings.  A page will open and show that “prosws.com” has been entered into the ‘Add this website’ field.  Click the ADD button and close the page.  Now, each time you go to ReloSpec you’ll be in the preferred Compatibility View.

For those of you using the Broker Center copy/paste page, open the page by clicking the ‘Broker Center’ link and put this page into Compatibility View using the steps in the previous paragraph.  A revised copy/paste page that is fully compatible with IE 11 will be available.  In the mean time this one-step fix for Compatibility View will work nicely.

Want to Transfer Records from ReloSpec to Lone Wolf?

For those using (or planning to use) Lone Wolf, we want to hear from you.  We are considering a way to transfer records from ReloSpec to the Lone Wolf software and want to know how many ReloSpec customers are interested.

Our plan is to build an automatic link or API (Application Program Interface) between ReloSpec and Lone Wolf.  Once you enter the information in ReloSpec, it would automatically update the Lone Wolf software.

Would you be willing to pay between $100 and $200 for such an option?  If there is enough interest we’ll build the API and charge a pre-payment of $100 per ReloSpec database.  ReloSpec users who wait until after the API is completed will probably pay the $200 price.

If interested, please email Jim at jevans@prosws.com BEFORE Friday, October 18, 2013, and let us know the following:

  1. Are you interested in using the proposed API link between ReloSpec and the Lone Wolf software?
  2. Would you be willing to make a pre-payment of $100 prior to the API product release?
  3. Would you be likely to pay the $200 once the API is made available?

Your responses in the next week will help determine if we proceed with this proposed project.  Please let us know either way.

Thank you!

Scheduled Reports; Now Send on Any Day of the Month

By now many of you are using the AutoPilot to build your Scheduled Reports that are sent to Brokers, Office Managers, Agents and others.  On the designated date, AutoPilot sends an email with a link in the body of the email.  The receiver opens the email, clicks the link and opens the report.

The Scheduled Reports that are sent using the AutoPilot save time because you don’t have to generate the report(s) or send them to whoever needs them.  AutoPilot does that for you!

But, what if you want to repeat the AutoPilot on a certain day of the month?  How can you ensure that your monthly Office Manager reports go out on the last day of the month?  Or the third of every month?  Or any day you select?

There’s a little trick to making this happen.  When completing the AutoPilot in the ToDo page, do the following.  Use the calendar to select the date you want the AutoPilot containing the report to go out the first time.  Select ‘Repeat’ = YES.  In the field for ‘Repeat in How Many Days’ enter a “12” plus the date you want it to repeat.  For example if you want it to repeat on the third (3rd) of every month, enter “1203”.  If you want it to go out on the 15th of every month, enter “1215”.  If you want it go out on the last day of every month, enter “1231”.

We all know that some months have fewer than 31 days, but ReloSpec is smart enough to make the adjustment.  If you enter “1231” and the next month is February, it will be scheduled for February 28th, but then in March it will be scheduled for the 31st.

Let us know if you need help building your AutoPilot Scheduled Reports.  It’s really a matter of knowing:

  1. Which report to send,
  2. Who you want to send it to, and
  3. When you want to send it

We look forward to helping you use this great time-saving feature!
